Solid Bricks: The Building Plan for Early Learning

As a supporter of early childhood education, we are excited to offer our thoughts on the much-anticipated morning lecture, Solid Bricks: The building plan for early learning, which is happening on April 18, 2026, from 07:15 to 13:00 at Sol-Tech in Monument Park. The most crucial years of a child’s cognitive development occur well before high school and even before they enter a first-grade classroom, as we frequently stress. This engaging programme is designed especially for committed instructors of students in grades three through three, with the goal of providing them with useful knowledge that they may use in their classrooms the very next day.

The all-inclusive programme begins early with registration, which is handled by Unine and Melanie K between 07:15 and 07:45. From 07:45 to 08:00, Unine and Marietjie give a cordial welcome and opening remarks to establish a cooperative tone for the day. We are really lucky to have a lineup of knowledgeable speakers giving their perspectives, beginning promptly at 08:05 and lasting until 08:50 with Dr. Melodie de Jager from the prestigious Mind Moves Institute, who will break down the essential elements of physical development and school readiness. Her talk is a fantastic fit for Dr. Maretha Steyn’s lecture from Akademia from 8:55 to 9:40, when she will discuss how encouraging early cognitive awareness can help little people think big.

After a much-needed tea break from 09:45 to 10:15, Unine Laas from the Schools Support Centre will mentor teachers from 10:20 to 11:10 on how to develop strong brain muscles for improved learning. This idea is in line with our own neuro-based teaching approaches, which emphasise the importance of cognitive development and the application of neuroscience in educational practices. We are very thrilled that Marisa van der Merwe from Minichess will be on stage from 11:15 to 12:00 to show how kids may learn via play.

At Minichess, we genuinely think that strategic gaming may help young minds become more focused and adept at solving problems. Marisa’s lesson will demonstrate how light-hearted interventions create the foundation for crucial stem development without making the learning process seem difficult or demanding.

Marietjie Havenga from the Schools Support Center will present from 12:00 to 12:45 on the importance of nurturing the emotional health of our children and teachers. This is a very encouraging sign that the educational ecosystem is prioritising holistic well-being. After that, there will be a little wrap-up from 12:45 to 13:00 to formally end the event.

Attending this insightful session will help educators develop resilience, emotional intelligence, and cooperative learning in their kids in addition to providing them with creative teaching techniques. Attendance is extremely affordable at R350 for members and R500 for non-members, providing outstanding value for a morning full of innovative teaching techniques from prestigious organisations like the Schools Support Center, Akademia, the Mind Moves Institute, and MiniChess. Are you ready to empower yourself with the tools you need to provide the best possible foundation for your students? We would be happy to chat with you and provide you with additional information about our wide range of educational options.
